Tour Schedule

8.15am – Explore Catalunya Office, opposite the Palau de la Musicá

You will join your tour at our main office, which is right across from the world famous Palau de la Musicá, where you’ll be introduced to your guide who will give you an introduction to the day. Your tour will start at 8.30am, but we always recommend arriving 15 minutes before. There are restrooms available, and a cafe nearby if you want to grab a quick coffee or sandwich before your tour begins.

8.30am – Gothic Quarter Walk Tour

Your tour starts with a walking tour through the old medieval streets of Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter, which as late as the mid 19th century was still surrounded by the Medieval walls. As you enjoy a stroll through the narrow winding streets of medieval Barcelona, your guide will tell you all about our history dating from the Roman era through to the early Middle Ages, when the Catalan counts were controlling the Mediterranean sea and Barcelona was the capital of an empire. During this part of the tour, you will also visit the Jewish Quarter, and the Royal palace.

9.45pm – Santa Maria de Mar, Barcelona

Your walking tour ends in the Born district, where the guide will point out a variety of restaurants and tapas bars you might like to come back to for lunch or dinner on another day. You will finish this segment of the tour seeing the magnificent Santa Maria del Mar – one of the most beautiful churches in Barcelona.

10.30am – Montjüic, Barcelona

After a walk through the past, you will drive to the famous hill of Montjüic, which offers excellent views over the city and was the site of the 1992 Olympic games. As you look out over Barcelona, your guide will point out the different neighbourhoods of the city and the most iconic attractions. This might be your first view of the famous Sagrada Familia.

11.00am – Example District, Barcelona

After the stop in Montjüic, you will make your way down to Plaça Espanya and on past the Modernist buildings of the Eixample area. Your drive to the iconic Sagrada Famlia will take you up Passeig de Gracia, home to the famous designer stores, and the setting for two of Barcelona’s most talked about Gaudï buildings: Casa Milà (La Pedrera) and Casa Batlló.

12.00pm – Sagrada Familia, Barcelona

Finally, you will arrive at the Sagrada Família, where your guide will explain all about its history and importance before taking you inside for a guided tour. Our ‘Skip the Line’ policy means entrance tickets will have been pre-purchased and there will be NO QUEUES! For many, this is the highlight of their Barcelona trip as they experience the wonders of the Sagrada Familia.

This is where your morning tour ends. You can stay inside the church as long as you want, or take some time to enjoy a lunch in one of the local restaurants.

2.30pm – Park Güell, Barcelona

After a quick lunch, you will head straight to Park Güell, the famous city garden designed by Antoni Gaudí. The guide will lead the group down through the park explaining the garden concept and introducing you to some of Gaudí’s most bizarre creations.

4.00pm – La Pedrera, Barcelona

From the Park, you will head straight to one of the most famous Gaudí buildings of them all, Casa Milà also known as La Pedrera. Once again, our special ‘Skip the Line’ policy means that there is no waiting in queues! Your guide will take straight you inside and give you a guided visit before leaving you time to explore alone. The tour officially ends here at around 4.30pm, but you can stay as long as you like on your own.
